Create a new Blueprint host
A Blueprint host is a clone of a host in the Blueprint group. This allows you to prepare a specific type of host and then use it as a template for other hosts over and over again.
-
Click the “+” button below the hosts list and switch to the “Advanced” section. In the following dialog, select the “Blueprint” host type.
Note: This host type is only active if there is at least one host in the “Blueprints” group.
-
Confirm your selection by clicking on the “Continue” button.
-
In the first step of next screen, select the Blueprint host you want to clone. All available Blueprint hosts are listed in the “Clone host” select box.
-
The next step is to enter the name of your new host. For this example we will choose the name “my-host”. Enter the name in the “to name” field.
-
As “Document root” we first create the new directory “my-host” and then select it.
Note: Do not create document root folders under your “/Applications/MAMP” folder. A better location for your document root folders would be “~/Sites/”. This will separate your host data from the MAMP PRO application data.
-
Of course, if the selected Blueprint host contains a linked database, it is automatically detected and the previous database name is entered in the name in the “Database” field with the -copy option. You may change the default database name, of course.
-
Confirm your selection by clicking on the “Create Host” button. All files, directories and the database are copied to the new host. This process may take a few seconds. Please be patient.
-
Finally you will be prompted to click the “Save” button and you have to restart the servers. Confirm this by clicking the “OK” button.
-
The servers will then need to be restarted. Confirm this by clicking the “Yes” button in the corresponding dialog box.
-
To open your new host in your default browser, click on the “Open” button to the right of the host name field.
